No, I am not an alcoholic but liver numbers may give that appearance from recent bloodwork. Actually, it is not too bad now. Last month, the doctor upped my Prednisone dosage to 20mg/day and two weeks later my liver numbers fell a lot. Then they cut my Prednisone dosage to 10mg/day and the liver numbers pretty much stayed the same. So right now, they are elevated, not sky high like they were in April 2011, but not normal either. The doctor does not seem too concerned as he has seen this many times in patients. It is just a waiting game where you hope the medication doesn’t have adverse side effects before it does its thing. So we are leaving everything the same and will check again in two weeks. If you are interested in all the medical numbers, check out my About Page. I keep that updated every month.
A little shout out to my cancer facility, Siteman Center in St Louis:
The doctor quoted in that video, John DiPersio, is the head guy where I was treated. He was not my doctor, but he did see me a few times when I was actually getting my transplant.
Other than the liver thing, not much has changed. My non-liver blood work is great, I am slowly getting closer to normal numbers 🙂
Summer is upon us, be safe out there!
